DETROIT LAKES — A new chiropractic clinic has opened in Detroit Lakes.

Kunz Chiropractic is now accepting new and walk-in patients at its Lake Avenue Plaza clinic at 725 Lake Avenue. Owner/practitioner and Detroit Lakes native Stephen Kunz said his clinic will offer adjustments, some physical therapy and massage.

“I try to treat the whole body, not just break a bone and be done with it,” Kunz said.

Various practitioner tables are ready for clients at Kunz Chiropractic, a new clinic, now open in Detroit Lakes at 714 Lake Avenue.

Kunz attended Holy Rosary School in Detroit Lakes before moving to Pelican Rapids. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School, attended Minnesota State University at Moorhead, then went on to earn his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractics in Iowa.

“I had struggled with injuries in sports,” he said, adding that it was the chiropractor he saw when he was younger who inspired him to become one himself. .

He also said that no one should have to live with chronic pain and that if he can improve patients’ quality of life by even 10%, it can make a big difference.

Before deciding to open his own clinic in Detroit Lakes, Kuntz offered chiropractic services in Pelican Rapids and Crookston.

He has been trained in multiple fitting and massage techniques and has the ability to tailor each patient’s treatment to their individual tastes.

The new clinic does not accept insurance. Kunz said a patient’s first visit costs $85 for consultation and adjustment, with $50 for recurring appointments thereafter.
