Dr. Karlee Dresen begins her career at Oelwein Chiropractic Clinic | Oelwein daily register

Oelwein Chiropractic Clinic welcomes Oelwein native Dr. Karlee Dresen, who recently joined the clinic as an independent contractor.

She graduated from Oelwein High School in 2012 and continued her studies at the University of Northern Iowa. In 2016, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Movement and Exercise Science, with a minor in Health Promotion. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2020 from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Dresen said she fell in love with chiropractic at a very young age. Her mother worked as a chiropractic assistant, which resulted in Karlee being with her at the clinic for many hours during the week. While there, Karlee was able to see the ins and outs of the office on a day-to-day basis. She said there wasn’t a part she didn’t like.

Her love for chiropractic grew from taking anatomy classes in high school and learning about the human body. From then on, she knew that becoming a chiropractor was her dream. While at UNI, Dr. Dresen gained experience as a pre-chiropractic trainee assistant at a chiropractic clinic in Cedar Falls.

At Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Dresen’s knowledge has grown to include a wide range of chiropractic techniques. She found her true passion to work in upper cervix (neck) care. This passion grew further as she received Blair Upper Cervical care herself. At the time, she suffered from extreme migraines that debilitated her. Blair’s technique freed her from her migraines, ultimately easing her symptoms.

Dr. Dresen has since been trained in the Blair Technique and provided specific upper cervical care at Oelwein. She is also trained and practices chiropractic care for the entire spine. His unique training allows him to adapt care plans to better meet the needs of patients, helping them achieve their health goals.

In her spare time, Dr. Dresen enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Nathan, their dog, Roo, and their kitten, Vinny. She enjoys going to the Mississippi River on weekends, walking, hiking and spending time outdoors. They are delighted to live in Oelwein, serving the community and the surrounding area.

We feel very lucky to have Dr. Dresen in our clinic. She now sees patients at the Oelwein Chiropractic Clinic, where appointments can be made by calling 319-283-3824.
